I've tried all these things, nothing works. I'm beginning to think I ought to just give up. But, since nobody has been able to figure it out how to help me. It's a highly customized install, very lightweight, it's under 2gbs. For some odd reason I didn't think that was possible, so I just went and installed 64bit. I wish I had googled whether you could run 32bit XP on a 64bit processor beforehand. I think slipping a swear word or two is a relatively good reaction to all the problems I've had simply downgrading an OS. But as someone that formally had an anger management problem. I'm sure something ridiculously small is out of line somewhere 'causing all this.
I tried to check another forum about that, and have yet to get around that error.
Now it just gives me an error about not being able to gather my user information.
